*** PLEASURE RIDE ENTRY FEES *** FROM 1 MARCH 2012 (noted 25 January2012)
All 2012 pleasure rides from 1 March 2012 will be at £15 for members and £20 for temporary day members, with a reduced fee of £10 for children under 14, as long as they are accompanied by a riding adult who has paid the appropriate fee.
At last night's committee meeting I realised that I had misunderstood the new 2012 South West pleasure ride fee structure and confused it with the national EGB non-competitive ride fees, so this morning I have amended the pleasure ride pages to show the new fees and altered the pleasure ride entry form.

2011 TROPHIES AWARDED (noted 25 January 2012)
Frances Webster, your Trophy Secretary, has passed me the list of 2011 Trophies and Awards presented at the Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner on 14 January 2012. Congratulations to those who were successful in 2011 and best of luck for everyone during 2012.

MISSION STATEMENT, STRATEGIC PLAN AND OPERATING PLAN FOR 2012 (noted 25 January 2012)
At last night's committee meeting we agreed the South West Group's 2012 Mission Statement, Strategic Plan and Operating Plan. Please have a look through them because the volunteer members of your committee will be working during 2012 towards fulfilling these expectations. These proposals will also be saved as a WORD document in the new 2012 Committee page once complete.
New members of the committee agreed to take on active or supporting roles to help achieve the Operating Plan in particular, and if any SW Group member wishes to attend one of our committee meetings, please contact our new Chair, Veryan Barneby, tel: 01579 370680, email: vbarneby@hotmail.com. I'm waiting for full details of our new committee members, and once complete they will be available on the website.

CARDINHAM PLEASURE RIDE - 26 FEBRUARY 2012 (noted 19 January2012)
Jo Claridge has informed me that entries for her ride exceeded her expectations and all 40 places have been allocated, however, Jo is keeping a reserve list so it may be worth sending in an entry just in case. Unsuccessful applications will be returned with their cheques of course.
Jo has also requested that riders share transport as much as possible because redevelopment at Cardinham is resulting in limited parking, all parking on the day will be linear up a woodland track.

ASSOCIATE MEMBER SUBSCRIPTION FORMS (updated 19 January 2012)
New forms are available for 2012 applications. EGB Head Office have requested changes to our forms; changing the date of majority to 25 and enquiring whether newsletters could be delivered by email.
The new prices for 2012 are £20 per person or £24 for a family.

FOUR SW MEMBERS ON THE NATIONAL EGB COMMITTEE (noted 30 November 2011)
It is with great pleasure that I report Jo Claridge has been re-elected onto the Board of Directors of EnduranceGB and voted on as Chairman for 2012; furthermore, John Hudson has been elected onto the Board of Directors of EnduranceGB. The South West is now in the happy position of having four of our South West members elected onto the Board of Directors - Jo Claridge (Chairman), Nikki Routledge (Chair of PR), Andrew Chisholm (Chair of Health & Safety) and John Hudson who has yet to be allocated a particular role over and above all he currently does!
Congratulations and best of luck to all four.

AMENDMENTS TO LIST OF SW AWARDS (noted 15 November 2011)
Please note that there have been several changes made to the wording of the awards for the purpose of clarity; unfortunately back in October I copied in the wording for the 2010 awards. The awards affected are: SW Branch Open Level Challenge Shield; SW Branch Novice Level Challenge Shield; Junior Rider Trophy; Young Rider Achievement Cup; Anwar Arabians Challenge Trophy; Jigsaw Puzzle Perpetual Trophy; The Shiera Shoe; The Yakamin Trophy for the SW Overall Champion; Spice Spirit of Westwood Award; SW Branch Young Volunteer of the Year Award and South West Branch Achievement Award.
