FOR LOAN: Maia is a four year old 3/4 Arab mare, approx. 14.3 hands, who is currently being backed and will be ready to be ridden on by an experienced rider. She was bred for endurance but as I am no longer competing I am looking for the right kind of home with a view to a long term loan. The Dam is Kerrygold, who is an Advanced endurance horse; the Sire is Mercuio who is a proven sire of endurance horses. FOR SALE: Almaz is an 11-year-old, 15hh, purebred, cremello Akhal-Teke gelding, currently ridden by a 13-year-old child. He is well-built, sound and has a "low mileage" for his age. We are preferably looking for a home where he can do at least some endurance to which Tekes take so easily, but he is also a very good jumper (his full brother was a Grade B horse). His sire hunted and did endurance about ten years ago in this country. He is 200% in traffic and around anything that horses find spooky - you can literally drive a bus over him and he won't blink! Totally easy to handle, shoe, box and clip. He needs a varied life and an individual approach, like most Akhal-Teke, but not necessarily a single rider. He is currently in Kent but will probably come to Devon in early October and may do some training rides in the South-West later on in the Autumn. £3,500ono

Wanted I am an advanced endurance rider and I live in Kent. My mare is not sound and sadly it looks as though she may be out of action for a while. I am looking for something to ride this summer. My daughter and I had planned to do a number of rides together. I am not really looking for a loan ( I would worry all the time), I would prefer to buy - but open to any ideas. My mare is a laid back, easy going 16hh ISH. I am looking for something similar. I am fairly tall and could not ride anything smaller than 15.3hh We can offer an excellent home to the right horse. I am looking for a sound horse with good manners - no vices. Needs to load easily and travel well. Needs to be good in traffic as our roads are really busy.
