Field opposite Meldon Dam Car Park, near Okehampton
Ride Description: Mostly good grassy moorland going with some hills, rivers to cross at well used crossings, some stony paths, and a few muddier tracks if the weather is wet beforehand. Some livestock will be on the moor.
Postcode: EX20 4HJ
OS Map Ref: 153
Grid Ref: SX560 918
What3Words: civic.forgiven.flagging
Entries Limited: 100
Stabling / Accommodation: No stabling. £15 per competitor for camping and corralling, to be paid with entry.
Facilities: Corralling, camping, catering, toilets and disabled loo.
No water at the venue. Camping only in horse boxes (no tents).
Gates: Up to 10 on the longer routes
Late Entries: Late entry fee payable from 20th June
Special Instructions: There is a low bridge (3.5m) on the access road to the venue.
Crew points are available but limited as vehicles are not allowed on Dartmoor. Plenty of natural water on course. The route goes across Meldon Dam and riders are required to dismount to cross, it is wide and has high sides so feels quite safe.
Crewing in larger vehicles is not allowed.
If fewer than 5 riders enter Class 1, the 80km GER, then the Organisers reserve the right to cancel the class and offer a downgrade to a class of shorter distance to those that have entered.
